Guys as my contributions to the clan for the next 3 months we will have a BC2 server.

Unfortunately we will have to wait for the server to be activated per this "EA Message".

Anyway it is through Game Servers it's a 24 man server. If we decide to stick with it we can upgrade it to a 32 man server at any point. Game Servers also has some interesting payment options called clan pay where I can set it up to have you guys basically send donations straight to the server payment or have Val do it if we continue that way.

Once I have the information on when the server is activated I will let you know.

We also need to make a decision on the dedicated server. Should I hang on to it for now? or should I sell it on EBay and put the funds into the RH pot? It's a quad core server with 8GB of RAM, 1U case and XP/64bit it should still be worth some $$$

Tabby
If I recall you built that server with YOUR money and YOUR time, so if you would like to sell it I feel that is entirely up to you. If you want to have it on standby ready to be reinstalled in the data center should a game come out that we could use it for, that would be great. If we keep the members we currently have and only have to cover a rented BC2 server for the next 6-8 months we would could grow the reserve back up enough to build another provided we can continue to contribute at the rate we have. Thats figuring on the members to be able to supply some of the needed components for the next server. But with times tight everywhere, we should probably not count on having a surplus with the dues, as all of us are likely cutting back everywhere we can with our personal budgets. Maybe letting it sit in reserve is the best call, that is of course providing you dont need the money right now, because I thought that server was yours and was just on loan to the clan, correct me if I am mistaken on that one.
