Well, went ahead and played it for a bit yesterday.
Seems that the history of day one shitstorm is alive and well with BFBC2 (when will they learn....)
Got a chance to play on a regular server before EA's servers went nuclear and cockblocked the multiplayer. Seems that weapon damage was changed a bit from the BETA and there was also slightly better FPS on my old rig. I was able to play for roughly a hour before the EA master server went down. There was no unlocks awarded at all. Hopefully they are getting the situation ironed out. Had a chance to blow through the entire singleplayer portion of the game last night. If it was for the dialog, humor and knowledge of what I was playing, I could've sworn I was playing the new Medal of Honor. Sans people dying all around me of course. For a game that's based strictly on a multiplayer facet, I was surprised that even though the story was there for stories sake I had some genuine laughs and a fun time overall. I'd say the campaign length was roughly around 5-6 hours on normal. Had a nice selection of weapons from multiplayer that was scattered about with multiple ways of tackling a directive.
Can't wait to hop back online though.

I spent a couple hours last night messing with it with IAGD and Kylnn, we spent more time trying to get in a server or get connected than we did playing, the fun of a normal game release I guess. Why cant every game be released as tight as an Unreal game .
Couple things we noticed
1. EA's machines arent up to the task, twice last night everybody got disconnected and it took 20 mins to get back in touch (login) with EA
2. Punkbuster kicks (for fail to init) happen often, going to evenbalance and using the pbsetup utility to add the game and update it helped some but did not 100% solve the problem.
3. Server browser is a step backward, which annoys me, how is it in 2010 we still see new games released with server browsers that work like games from the 90s
4. Random kicks from servers and unable to connect errors probably due to EA's machines/
5. Gameplay is very smooth in full servers, once you can get in a server we had a good time trying to figure it all out.
6. I found some ports today for the game, nothing official but I tried adding them to the router and was able to get into some games where right before then I could not, kept getting the "you have been disconnected message" we saw so much of last night. YMMV
TCP Ports: 80, 13505, 18800, 18805
UDP Ports: 53, 10000, 11000-11030, 18805
Just had about 30 minutes to mess with it on my way home, might make it around later but I feel like crap, been sick as **** all week.
